The Gopalakrishnan-Deshpande Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (GDC) at IIT Madras conducted the sixth cohort under its flagship I-NCUBATE program at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. Eight start-up teams based on deep-tech ideas from diverse sectors such as MedTech, industrial machinery, environment, and industrial materials participated in the cohort. At the Finale held on 05-Oct-2019, Prof. Anurag Kumar, Director of IISc, said that this first cohort of I-NCUBATE hosted by IISc had enthused their faculty and researchers, and they looked forward to their partnership with GDC to establish IISc as a node for a lab to market transformation in Bengaluru. Since its launch in March 2018, I-NCUBATE, which is based on the NSF I-Corps program, has benefitted more than 50 start-up teams and over 300 participants from STEM colleges across India.
